Prospective mentors will learn best practices for mentoring that will help them develop positive relations once matched with a Scholar.  To be held at the 518 ElevatED Headquarters at 1218 Central Avenue, Albany.

Mentors will go through training exercises that will help them:

• Understand 518 ElevatED programs​
• Learn about program policies, expectations, and best practices ​​
• Learn how to build trust and use a strengths-based approach  ​​
• Demonstrate active listening techniques  ​​
• Understand confidentiality  ​​
• Understand the challenges of family engagement​
• Practice through role-plays and feedback  ​​
• Know where to find resources, guidance, and help​
